Therapeutic Coaching

The goal of therapeutic coaching is to support and guide clients in identifying and following through with both short-term and long-term goals that lead to overall success.  These goals will vary from person to person, and are individualized to best match each client’s desires and needs.  Coaches assist clients across numerous domains, including but not limited to:

 

  • Personal Development

    • Developing self-care routines, grocery shopping or healthy meal plans, workout plans or session attendance, etc.

    • Exploration of hobbies or leisure activities

    • Increasing social skills through coaching alliance as well as practice in the community (e.g., in vivo practice or exposure with coach’s support; role-play)

  • Life Skills

    • Creating weekly scheduling and help with everyday routine-building

    • Assisting with scheduling doctors’ appointments and setting reminders

    • Helping clients find an apartment and/or access additional resources in the community

    • Supporting with budgeting

  • Mental Health

    • Identifying and/or developing effective coping skills

    • Management of mental health symptoms (e.g., teaching clients how to combat their social anxiety, relax their minds/bodies from anxiety)

    • Providing clients with an additional support to rely on and/or bounce ideas off of

    • Creation of relapse prevention plans

  • Career & Academic Exploration

    • Exploring client’s future options through dialogue as well as other tactics such as Socratic questioning or motivational interviewing

    • Building and/or editing resumes

    • Assisting clients with their job searches and helping them apply to job or volunteer opportunities

    • Utilizing role-play to practice job interviews or particular social interactions

    • Support with school applications, transfer paperwork, or academic advising

Our mission is to assist clients in living their best lives despite the complexities of their current condition, diagnoses, or difficulties. We understand that life can be hard at times and that barriers can be present that feel discouraging or get in the way of our success.

Therefore, we are committed to helping individuals overcome these obstacles and believe that their success is in close reach. Through encouragement and consistency, we assist clients across numerous domains, including but not limited to personal development, life skills, mental health management, and career/academic exploration. We gently promote clients’ organization, accountability, and consistency and empower clients to achieve their life goals. We individualize services so that each client receives the exact amount or type of support that is needed for not only living, but thriving.

 

How does Coaching Services work?

We create a Coaching Plan with the client, family, and clinical team, which identifies goals for the client and helps to address mental health and addiction challenges of everyday living. We take a collaborative approach when working with clients to help them get back on track. Coaching services provides a service to clients that blends life coaching, mentorship, mental health symptoms management, and wraparound services to ensure that the client gets back on their feet.

 

How often do I meet with my coach?

We are on call five days a week and can meet with clients as much as the client requests to provide the most efficient support.
